Project Management Essentials:  Hybrid Course
This course aligns with PMI®’s PMBOK® Guide, 5th edition, to ensure participants are well versed in project management fundamentals in the context of PMI’s framework. The course uses case studies/exercises from project initiation to project close. Topics are drawn from the 10 knowledge areas (i.e. Risk, Human Resources, Communications, Procurement, and Quality), the 5 process groups (Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring and Controlling, and Closing) and the 47 processes that make up the PMBOK® Guide. The course is focused on understanding Project Management from PMI’s framework viewpoint. This fundamentals course is for those who want a basic foundation in Project Management even if they are not yet planning or ready to take the PMP/CAPM exam.  This course will be a hybrid format:  part in class lecture and part online.  Required text: Gazza's Guide to Practical Project Management, ISBN-10: 1478345047, 2012, Gary Nelson.  (18 hours)
